Face to face with Guido Migliozzi
It is easy to meet Guido here at the Asiago Golf Club during the months of July and August.
He takes it as a sort of shelter staying here, away from the heat of the city, leaving Montecchia Golf Club to train with his guru Niccolo’ Bisazza.
Guido was born in Vicenza in 1997and has started playing golf in 2006, in 2011 he had already entered the National team; this year he is between the top 20 amateur players in Europe and lists 73rd in the world’s ranking.
Guido is happy ,smyling and young and big at the same time. He looks at you straight in the eyes and immediately inspires you liking.
In front of him we see his coach , Niccolo Bisazza , who always has an eye on him. their relationship has started in Asiago in 2010
And never stopped since.
What do you like in Niccolo’?
He is a vanguard professional, always prepared and up to date. I like him a lot and he is always close to me.
You are practicing in Asiago now, how is the course?
The course demands a lot from you, you have to hit straight and this is a good training device : best conditions for serious training.
What are your next golfing appointments?
Sunday I will be leaving for the European Individual championships in St. Andrews then comes the British Boys, the ITALIAN open and
In September we have the World Team Championship in JAPAN.
What your the goal for this season?
To get top 20 in the World ranking and to get a good position at the European and World Championships.
How many hours do you train a day?
Fuor in total some golf and some gym.
Who is your favourite player?
My idol is Tiger Woods but I also like Matteo Manassero a lot.
The Olympic committee has reintroduced golf between Olympic sports ( AT LAST),according to you golf is a game?
Golf is a sport not a game, if you practice it seriously it cannot be other than a sport.
It woud be nice to have a medal on the noticeboard, but for us golfers winning a Major is more important; for now Olympics are more likely to match other sports.
Guido children cheer on you ,they admire you , what would you like to do for them?
I would like to tell them that golf is a marvellous sport, you can have fun with your fellow players, you travel and you get in touch with many people.
What is for your game the best tournement formula?match play or medal?
I like match play , it gives you the opportunity to face your opponent and if you hit the ball wrong nothing is lost.
Are you going to enter professional golfing?
I am thinking of it, I would like to play the Qualifyng School next year.
What do you like most of golf?
It’s the andrenaline rush that comes when you perform the shot you had in mind, nothing makes you feel better .
Good luck!
